Actually I'm writing a tutorial about GOF patterns, it's free but it's still in construction. A good part is already written, so don't hesitate to start reading here.

If you want to learn Java, C, C++ or phyton on good basis, go to Eckel's homepage his books are downlaodable for free and I recommend them because all of them has an excellent quality reading and learning: www.mindview.net. You will find different language versions of his books.
